Firoz Khan & Dharmendra together :Aadmi Aur Insaan

I was searching for any movie or song picturized on Firoz Khan & Dharmendra together ,  , finally I zeroed in on this 1969 great movie called " Aadmi Aur Insaan" produced by BR Chopra , u know who directed this movie... " Yash Chopra " , not many people may be aware , the only movie where Dharmendra & Yash Chopra had work together .

I wish I could get a chance to see these gr8 movies in cinema halls , but now dayz no place for old movies , even a year old movie is not possible to watch, earlier we used to get some chance to watch old movies in noon shows, I remember watching all Dev Anand movies with my friend Naresh in noon or matinee shows , when I was in school.

OK come back .. this song is special .,Two handsome , macho heros with sexy smile & bod , well dressed  ,Mumtaz in long cut gown ,cleavage ,70's Bar ,Cabaret( not todays' item no.) which had some guidelines to be followed , n Asha Bhosle signature song.

Rajesh Khanna : The SuperStar

Rajesh Khanna was at his peak when I was in school , his songs tops the charts of only countdown show of that era ( audio only) Binaca Geetmala compeered by Amin Sayani in his trade mark style. Kishore /Rajesh /SD/RD lethal combination was the guarantee for the success. It is Amitabh/Vinod Khann/Mehra /Rishi  who were my gen’s Heros’s , still I was die hard fan of Dev Anand , In fact I was not so excited for his movies during his peak ,although I have seen all (100%) movies , my friend Veena was great fan of RK , she once told me that  he has the style , she wants her would be to be  like him only  , with white/cream shawl draped the way he used to do . Post 90’s only Somehow I started liking his few classic movies by Bangali directors & Khamoshi’s “ Wo Sham “ became my all time Fav song defeating all Dev songs , was it song or the sadness or reminiscences of the forgiven love , or Kishore or Waheeda or Gulzar magic or  intelligent picturisation of Dharmendra glimpses , shadow ( 15 secs max) ,or soft music by Hemant Kumar or B&W majestic Hawrah Bridge in the background , Naav , Naav chalak & flashbacks ……………..all these flavors & soft lover boy act by Rajesh Khanna made this song Immortal , even Lata had sang this song as a Shradahanjali to Legendary Kishore Kumar. For me Khamoshi is in the same league of “ Guide” , my ultimate’s.

Other movie was Safar & the song   “ Jeevan Se Bhari” , although I feel sad for Firoz Khan’s role ,which was totally in contrast  with his real life image of a lady killer .Then Classic “ Amar Prem “  better known for his famous “ Pushpa ….” Dialogue   , my fav scene in the movie used to be , when grown up Doctor Vinod Mehra re visits Sharmila ‘s home & Sparsh flowers of the same tree planted long back ,when he was a child ,he remembers affection rendered by Sharmila  during his childhood , so touching , I always ruminate this particular scene, close to my heart .

I observed that all Bangla directors are too good in portraying complexity of Rishtey’s of any kind in any combination ( Humans, Nature, places , animals so on..)  , other movies which I liked were Avishkar , Thodi si Befaai , Anand ,Iteefaaq, The Train , Aap Ki Kasam etc.

His bonding with Kishore Kumar was friendly , they share good rapo with each other ,their songs are still popular & he will be always remembered for his Super Stardom , immortal Songs & his contribution to make 70’s as The Golden Era of Hindi cinema.

I do remember the tribute  he paid to Dev Anand recently , it was the best , artistic & well versed speech to describe Dev Anand & his control & affection surprised me , Lovely.

Danny Denzongpa : Bigger than a Hero

I am hard core fan of Danny , I am following him since his initial movies like Milap , Mere Apne etc. .He is a fantastic actor & at par with the biggies like Amitabh , Dharmendra , Vinod Khanna , Firoz Khan , Sanjeev Kumar , Shatrughan Sinha & also performed well with his juniors like Sanjay Dutt , Sunney Deol , Ajay Devgan etc. I remember when we ( me & my eldest sis) watched Milap ( Echhadhari snakes) long back , we both started liking this young (then) Sikkimes un conventional looking actor. He improvises with every movie he acted specially in negative roles , he always excelled in his performance opposite an established actor and takes on acting stalwart like Raaj Kumar in Bulandi , Sanjeev Kumar in Devta , Amitabh in Agneepath & so on with grace & confidence , whereas many established actor failed .In Love Story Rajendra Kumar had tough time sharing screen space with this brilliant actor. His persona , acting talent & power pack screen presence gave many popular heros shivers & they look like poor sheeps or bachhas in many movies. Firoz Khan , Mukul Anand have always kept role reserved for Danny. I always found him well dressed in most of the movies apart from those atrangeee villaineous dressing & hair style.

He is known as deadliest villain of all time & I personally rate him at par with Amrish Puri & Pran . Personally a thorough gentleman and he always stayed away from the controversies , Bollywood politics & camps . A top heroine affair with a character artist is still not common , but he had affair with Parveen Babi & they live together for sometime .Few people know that Danny is one of the closest friend of Amitabh & is very close to the Bachchan family, which he never tried to encash.




Danny has acted in more than 150 movies ,& got many awards ,my fav Danny movies are ;

Mere Apne (1971) : Sanju : A new comer then ,as one of the local guy , who is always holding baby doll in his hand , A beautiful directional debut film of Legendary Gulzar & Shatru & Vinod Khanna best films ever along with Meena Kumari.


Agneepath (1990): Kancha Cheena : What a class , Postures , dialogues , Status , dressing & tower like personality who rule Bombay underworld & based somewhere in Mauritius, most of the scenes with Amitabh were memorable and only a powerful performer who’s image is bigger than many Hero’s can display such confident & command ,his hair style in entry scene (pic) at Mandwa & overall handsome attire throughout the movie is watchable .He used different dialogue delivery style ,my favorite dialogues are : Vijay Chauhan koo fool bhej do” & “Dushman jab bada ho jaye to ussse dost bana lo , apnee umar bad jatee hey” , apart from Amitabh's : Mera pura naam..Vijay..." sometime I wonder did I watched this movie over & over again for Vijay Dinanath Chauhan or for Kanch Cheena ?? I don’t think Sanju Baba will be able to match Kancha Cheena stature in Agneepath remake.

Dhund by B.R.Chopra:Danny as crippled jealous husband of Zeenat Aman , a critically acclaimed performance.

It is the last scene of Bandini movie. The director captured the brilliant mood of the film. The song "Mere Sajan Hai Uspar" comes from the hearts of both of the bereaved and suffered protagonists. The folklore beats along with the horn of the train and the ship are combined to make it a wonderful song. SD at his best!

Too many elements for me to fall in luv with this movie.

Rain , Train , Railway stations ,Rain , Songs , Rishtey , Complexity , Pain , Mumbai ,Dharmendra in romantic mature role ! . Rain again song , Train , crowded plateform , Guitar.Rain !

I surprised to watch this movie , astonished , like it more 2^nd time , then many more on TV in UAE.

Cinamatic night scenes of rain with Lamp posts dim lights , traffic , Mera Mumbai . YT >10 lac Hits !!

Scene –Song - those 3 Pritam/James with Guitar ( every youth fantasy)  –scene –again song , - 3's -  : like this theatrical musical experiment , locations , open roof , beach !, plateform , busy streets , Mumbai rain.

After Gangester roof @higher elev. without side walls is regular scene for songs etc.

Kangna never looks so beautiful with Specs in her trade mark tragic sucidal  role ( other post on her monoplised seating style  , later) ,Shilpa/ KK/Shiney/Irfan/Nafeesa Ali Sodhi , but Dharemndra was pleasant surprise , delight to watch in soft caring role ,well dressed , when in suite. Why no one has offered him soft romantic roles , like Anupama , Satyakam , Chupke2 etc.

Negative : Other Song Rishtey infact is stolen from Korean song , may be some scenes , also some from Pak .

A Musical , Visual delight movie ,Wahhhhh !

I luv this song , few yrs back i watched "Shraddhanjali" concert on TV , with Introduction from Amitabh , Lataji said she also likes this classic song , also said " Dharm ji bhee edhar hey ( seating in front row) ,on whom the song was picturised .
I always play this song , & carry with me ,.Hement K music ,Beutiful !!
Also Amitabh poetic intro of Lata ji was beutiful ,specially of suuport strings of Sitar reference.
I am still searching for the video of this song in that stage prog.

Tum Pukar Lo : Khamoshi

Tum Pukar Lo : Impossible for me to miss this all time fav song , even though too painful to listen every time ,takleef deta hey,try after 10 PM only. Kishore ( Wo sham) & Hemant Da best song ever for the same movie , Gulzar , Waheeda ,Rajesh Khanna ,brilliantly directed by Asit Sen .

For addl. flavor Dharmendra act in pensive , thoughtful mood without even showing  face , Waheeda on steps , flowing curtains ,overall picturisation in B&W just awesome.
