Splendid  ! Imtiyaz Ali has proved again , that his movies are worth waiting , I or We were eagerly waiting for his next movie after Rockstar , & we were sure that there must be something in it to look for , just amazed to see A journey called "HIGHWAY" ,a Signature I Ali movie with large Canvas ,it is about finding yourself , listen to your heart , there is something more beyond comfort of your home , Experience it , where destination is not known , companions are not known. No matter who you are , how strong you may be , but everyone is having a child within , keep him/her alive , listen to him .
Alia as Veera & Randeep as Mahavir power pack  performances make this an unforgettable journey , which will not let you sleep comfortably atleast for few dayz, as rightly said by Javed Akthar , I too had similar experience , movie is getting played over n over again in my sub conscious mind .Amazing.
Cinematography & music is gr8 . I did not find  folk song by a Rajasthani group in Mp3/CD, searching now.

My answer is also Pahad/Mountain , specially along with the River , as compared to the Sea.Shot beautifully .

I am now a hardcore fan of Irshad Kamil after Rockstar , Cocktail, YJHD ,LAK , JWM  etc. etc....Just read lyricists ( sourced from net) too complicated , but so sweet , Patakha Guddi is like essence of the whole movie and defined Alia's character & Soha Saha  did same for Mahavir , who keeps on reminiscing about  his mother , some good , also bad.

Miss u Jordon

Something unusual is happening , it is almost 2 months or 60 dayz , we i.e. myself Tukur & Sid didn't watched Rockstar on our DVD , otherwise it's a routine , every fortnight or max a month.Reason may be Tukur Exams , I too is busy , but it is felt that somethin is missing in our life , but we promise u JORDON that soon or may be from next month after exams we will resume our old fortnightly routine i.e. Watching Rockstar , a celebration of Aspirations , Dreams , Luv, Rishtey Music , auur na jane kya kya .......miss u.

DCH n ZNMD

  

2nd Post on ZNMD (earlier post link ) , As I don't have much choice of movies , which i luv or remember as after Rockstar , perception changed and i tend to compare how much i enjoyed as compared to Rock* and what I am lookin in any movie , or just to wait for Ranbir other movies Barfi n YJHD, Mumbai Velvet etc. , I somehow not enjoying movies now a dayz  which is quite strange, now  watching film may be once a month ? so  I tried to look beyond and found ya ZNMD may be talked about , as my 1st exp. at Cinema hall was not that Wow , although I liked it but still ,after watching partially on TV , I started liking this movie in bits or say some part of this , mainly which seems to be influenced from DCH ,like stills (see pic) at many places specially in this song Khwabon Ke Parinde & bonding between friends ,I wish this song or in that car only 3 friends should have been there minus Kalki.

While surfing own pics , I like Sid pic (blue) which we fondly called DCH , therefore I am posting here.One more thing I am still unable to find that Hrithik Linen light Green shirt.

Hey Bajpai ! Whhhhhat happened , also A family for whom Saturday means Multiplex , popcorn , any type movie ,good,  bad , sense less etc. ,now NO movies for almost 9 weeks , except Rockstar 4 times , also this movie has spoiled myself & my whole family , nobody is talking to watch Ra none/Don2/ Dirty /Ricky etc  etc. , nobody wanted to dilute the effect of Jordon ,  Heer,Sadda  Haq, Ssaale,Parinde ,Khatana, Platinum Dhingra , Noir  , Shahnai ,& we all still not recovered from hangover .CD is being played over & over again while in drive , @home  !!!

For me Dev was another reason for not feel like watching other movies , eagerly waiting for re release of cult “ Guide” in digitally enhanced 70 mm , Dolby version, it's reproduction is being done by a European ( Prague) music company for Navketan. We are not finding another source who can fill the cinematic  void left by Dev & Rockstar.

Rockstar : Noir

I am in Luv with this hoarding , I feel like seeing it  somewhere at a place like Juhu/Bandra . Well placed location ,stark  Black colour , Ranbir expressions , attitude , hair style ,everything... is so eye catching , awesome ..

Also the Scene when Shammi Kapoor glanced at the hoarding next to the road and smile , which says " my prediction about this young boy was right, who is already on his way to becoming a mega star."

It is unusual to post multiple posts for the same movie ,but whenever I close my eyes, specially while travelling , I found it is getting played over & over again .Infact I am enjoying this rumination & felt like having my joie de vivre , interestingly I found this in a movie which has a tragic ending , where Protagonist lost his luv & is angry with himself ,even after achieving what he dreamed of since his child hood.

Rockstar ***** :Avant-garde

Sadda Haq   , Why Not , that I should also be fed emotionally & intellectually ,apart from usual necessities just for living , but I do not have enough choices , we have YSR’s/KJO/Khans/Akshyas /Shetty’s/Falana /Dikhana’s.  Their movies reminds me an incident few yrs back,we around 8 colleagues watching block buster KKHH in Bharuch , I was laughing & teasing my fellow collegue , who was shedding tears , I left the movie half way as I had to catch a train , but the point is I never tried to watch remaining part , as nothing had actually happened , which drove me to watch remaining KKHH .

Seldom I feel Why YSR is not directing another Deewar/Trishul , Why no more Khamoshi/Guide /Bandini/DCH/ Izzazat /HKA,anyways as a movie buff , I have different slots for all genre ,Pot boilers , comedy ,romance , action . difference is in the ignorance as I did not come across Rockstar before ,also my recent stimulations with “ Bridges of a Madison county , La vita è bella ( Thanks wanton ascetic) , Meet Joe Black"  etc led me to differentiate bet’n good movies & real good movies.

I am forced to make a detailed posting, as movie got stored in my sub conscious mind ,being getting played anytime , anywhere unknowingly , Similar to (Khmoshi) Waheeda climbing the staircase holding Meghdoot in her hand & Dharmendra seating on reclining chair & song Tum Pukar Lo being played, is still as fresh as if I watched it yesterday only, while leaving the hall (Rockstar) we all 4 had some questions & our views why ,why not ,why he/she ……we discussed the same till late night , then I realized that it had pick the right brain chords , It reminds me of the page 204 of “ Romancing with life “ Guide premiere feedback .

“ The film left them stunned .there was no cheer on their faces,only a look of puzzled bewilderment ,as they stood up and walked out in silence after the last fade out . Goldie & I were at the main gate to thank them for their gracious presence at the show , but they walked out as if in mourning after a funeral…………” Later on people found more meaning in it & Guide was declared as Classic, Rockstar hit the chords in the very first show , Sid was telling that @Jaipur full crowd was in synch with Sadda Haq & they had full blast.

OK enough , leave those nostalgic revelations and come to this Saga called “ Rockstar ”


Bravo….. ,What a movie ,Avant-garde, stirred my soul , my senses , also a visual delight frame by frame, Razmataz & a complete entertainment package , seen after long time . Thanks to Imtiyaz Ali tour de force, I was very much sure that this Movie & Ranbir-Imtiyaz combination would hit my soul, dying to see this Extravaganza which has all the elements , needed to make a successful movie Alas , Nargis ( another lucky one for RK) as Dil todne wali machine , perfect ice candy & as basic as Vanilla , even Mishra as Halwai /manager is likable , bitter-sweet story, great screen play , beautiful cinematography by Ashok Mehta , I think he might have put so much efforts last time may be in his own venture (Moksha) only ,few yrs back ,locations like Kashmir/Prague/Delhi, hit Music , which earlier seemed to look like main theme , but as story unfolds it is the journey of a young raw musician who is chasing his passion ,who wanted to get himself hurt , but in the process really get punished ,became self destructive and all fame, glory, achievements >>> just worthless at the end. Imtiyaz Ali has mastered the art of romance with complex relations ( Rishtey in my words) , normally initially they do not understand what it is , only after separation (JWM/LAK) they came to know what it was , Confused , may be! Finally it is the power pack performances which elevated this soul curry , to another level , perfectionised by Ranbir , his wits Gulzar/Vishal type ( kameeni), youthfulness ( time for oldies to leave now),lover boy looks , head gears ,Rustic Wardrobe, beard, his comfort with guitar , stage performance as mega star , pain , anger , frustration , Sadda Haq, Ranbir , Parinde ,more pain, Parinde ghar aa jaa ,Tu hee rakkh , Ranbir… Noir ,

We all wanted to know !!Why they didn’t tell each other when she has mehndi and asked him to hug her ,what she meant by telling the sach otherwise ! which he was unable to reciprocate or why she didn’t accepted his casual offer to run away thru back door ,so many questions , & many more answers as per yr own interpretations , this is where it involve you , invite you to become part of the movie , with many questions remain unanswered , Why ,Why not ? when we left the hall silently ,still feeling may be she will join him ,as she was recovering  ,why he is in so much pain! Give him what he deserves! Why separate them who are made for each other ….

I started liking this boy , 1st Bachna Ai ..,then Wake up Sid , then Rajneeti.

He as Samar Pratap really stole the whole show, overshadowed everybody , even Ajay & Manoj Bajpai.

Western educated Sauvé , elite ,cold blooded .I just loved every frame of him , Powerful performance with grey shades ,specially ;

Sitting on sofa watching news.

Hugging Kat , after getting her approval of marriage  (business) & eye contact with Mama ji.

Stage scene , his dressing of white Linen coat.

Scene with Babu lal , asking for phone call detail 

etc.

Gr8 performance , Thanks to Prakash Jha for experimenting with Kapoor , they do not belong to YRF/KJO only !.

  Also wake up Sid , was smooth.
Then final assault in " Rockstar" u rock Ranbir.
Then Barfi! , awesome , laughter n tears in same package!

My fav song among all Ranbir's.
